Another week goes by...

I can't believe it's already Monday again! Time seems to be going way fast (which is a good thing) but sometimes there's not enough time for everything there is to do! This weekend was a busy one! We had stuff going on everyday plus 3 of my major school projects were due today and since now I became a big time procrastinator (I blame that on pregnancy hormones, like everything else), I had to work really hard to try and get everything done! Result: I had a really fun weekend, but I'm exhausted!!

This picture is from our Festa Junina on Friday. This is a big celebration we have every year in June (thus June Party) and we dress up with funny dresses, brade our hair, and paint frackles on our faces! But the whole point of it is the delicious traditional food we have like paçoquinha, pipoca, arroz doce, pe de moleque, doce de abobora and more! We also have a square dance we do, which is way fun!

This was on Saturday. My friend Janaina had her boy's 1st B-day Party and she asked me to help with the decoration! She went all out with everything and it turned out way cute! Plus the food that she made, so good!! It took us a while to get everything ready so by the end of the day my back was killing me!

Oh yeah, since I was too busy, Bryan was nice enough to help me with my bug colletion! He had this super creative idea (as we were at D.I. looking for something to put my bugs in) to use a candle holder and hang them like a chandalier. The worst part is that something leaked on my way to school and the smell was just disgusting! I never wanna see these bugs again!

And just to finish it up...here is an update on my belly at 27 weeks! I'm officially in the third trimester, so hopefully it will keep going fast! My girl keeps kicking away and I think yesterday I felt her hiccups! It's getting harder and harder for me to move around but it's actually not that bad! I just love feeling her move and knowing she's doing great!

And finally... the SUN!

This weekend was awesome! It was so warm outside we even got sunburned! We had a branch BBQ for Father's Day with lots of mexican food (for those that don't know, we go to a Spanish Branch). The wind was a little too much, but at least kept it from getting too hot I guess. We also had our Brazilian friends from Provo coming to visit (the two on the left, and the one in the red shirt). It was fun seeing them again, I sure miss the good old days back in Brazil when we used to hang out ALL THE TIME! But that's how life goes, we keep the good memories and try to make new ones as time goes by! Now let's hope the weather stays nice so we can make lots of good memories for the summer!! Oh yeah, I only have 5 weeks left in school! Yupi!

Mecham Family Reunion 2008

So this is where we went last weekend. Bryan's grandparents on his mom's side had their first family reunion. It was so much fun hanging out with his aunts, uncles, and cousins, but we still didn't get everybody together. The reunion was in Grouse Creek, UT which most of you probably have no idea where it is since it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere with very, very few people still living there. We don't get any cell phone reception there, so you're pretty much isolated from the rest of the world the whole time you're there (except now they have a pretty good internet!). I learned to like spending a few days there (no more than 5 though), since it's a place to relax, slow down and do lots of exploring and off-roading.

We got to spend a lot of time with our nephew Boden, since his parents couldn't go, and we all helped babysit him. He's now 3 yrs old and he could spent all day outside playing. I forgot how much energy these little bodies have! He could jump on the trampoline for hours non stop!

The next day we all went on this really (and I mean really) long off-roading trip trying to find a spot where they could rapell off rocks and we could just hang out and have a fire. But it turned out it was too windy and cold so we kept driving for the longest time on these really bad roads.

One of our stops was at the top of these mountains east of Grouse Creek. It took us about an hour to get there and I was about done with the trip because my baby girl decided she didn't like al the shaking and so she started to move in there like crazy, making it harder for me to stand all the bumps.

But when we got up there we saw this beautiful view of north end of the salt flats. It was the most amazing thing ever! There was mountains everywhere and you could see far in the distance. I love nature! There's so many beautiful things for us to see! But then I got really sore and we had to finish our trip early when everybody else kept going trying to find another spot!

This was my favorite activity. We got everybody together for a Talent Show. It was more for the kids to do something and make us laugh, but everybody had a good time. His grandpa also shared with us some of his poetry that he wrote over the years. I have them all recorded. He was really good. At the end Bryan surprised everyone with a slide show he did for his grandparent's 47th Anniversary. He collected some pictures of them growing up and of their kids as well. It made everybody laugh and cry at the same time.

So I just found this one last picture of the reunion in my camera and I had to add it because it was sure fun! Making smores! We couldn't handle being outside for too long because it was really cold, but we got to play some games and have a good time by the fire!

What I was doing...

I've been working on this thing since last week, but never finished it, so today I decided to write the rest. Some of it is old, like what I was doing yesterday, I just didn't want to fix it, but still works. ENJOY!

10 years ago:
I was 11 years old, and I don't remember much about it. I remember being 12 years old, a lot happened that year, but the year before I think I was just being a kid, starting to grow up and thinking I was already a teenager. Oh yeah, I just remembered, both my best friends turned 12 and went to Young Women and I was left alone in primary. I cried so much because I was the only one left and convinced my bishop to let me go to YW as well. So I never had the "official passage" but I didn't care. We also had a ward youth conference that I still wasn't supposed to go, but again I found a way! It was one the best youth conferences I ever had. Our ward had lots of youth and our leaders were amazing! They planned the best activities and we were all very close! That was the highlight of that year!

5 years ago:
I was an exchange student in Bear Lake, Idaho! That experience changed my life forever!! It took me a lot of courage to leave my family, friends and everything I always knew behind to embark on this adventure. A lot of people didn't understand why I would want to get out of my comfort zone, but I would do it all over again. I gained so much personal strength, confidence, and self-esteem because I was able to really learn about myself. I met amazing people and friends that I wish I could keep more in touch with. I learned the true meaning of friendship and service for others. I got to know my Heavenly Father in a way I never knew I could before. I also met the one I would marry for time and all eternity years later, but I had no idea of that; I just thought he was way good looking!

1 year ago:
I was doing my internship at Floral Art in Idaho Falls. I worked so hard and learned a lot, but I'm glad it's over. It helped me realized that I really enjoyed my major Floral Design, but that I would never want to have a job at a floral shop ever again. I love working with weddings and being part of the whole process, but the everyday shop thing was just too much. I was also married for just over a year and life was just wonderful! Summer was a lot warmer and it wasn't raining everyday like it is this year!

Yesterday:
I had a really moody day. I have been doing really good with the whole pregnancy hormone thing, but yesterday I just started on the wrong foot (with some construction guy pounding on something right under our bedroom window) and everything just went down hill from there. I would get upset with everything and anything. I had to do a lot of positive thinking to not let everything get to me so easily. It's funny how we really attract things we think of (whether consciously or not), if you're happy, bad things can happen to you and you'll be fine, if you're not happy, those things have a totally different impact!

I would have THE house of my dreams, with the biggest backyard ever. We would invest a lot of it in real estate. I would travel to Brazil first class whenever I wanted and would pay for my whole family to come visit us. I would help lots of people that I wish I could help right now. I would have vacation homes all over the place. I would travel all over the world, and would shop until I drop!

-I have a little daily routine and I cannot just go to sleep without cleaning my face, etc. It’s kinda automatic!
-All my hangers face the same way in my closet and I separate my clothes by type (coats, t-shirts, etc)
-I cannot stand seeing something folded the wrong way or bended, I have to go fix it
-I’m a perfectionist in everyway, which doesn’t allow me to be very spontaneous sometimes.
-I pop my knuckles all the time.

I DID IT!!!

For those that know, I've been saying I wanted to do highlights on my hair for the longest time and never had the guts to do it. I was always too scared to do it once and have to color my hair for the rest of my life. But hey, hair grows for a reason! Specially when you're pregnant! So I made up my mind and my sister-in-law Aimee came with me, which was even better!

Here is the during. I had to capture the event! My hair was being colored for the first time EVER! I could probably catch HBO with all that stuff on my hair!

And after 3 hours of much sitting, and heating, and washing, and sitting some more , here is the result! I also got a hair cut and styling. Aimee wanted hers completely blond, but because her mom wasn't there to give the ok, they just gave her some massive highlights which I think turned out way cute! Oh yeah, and we totally didn't plan on wearing orange!

Here is a close up of my hair. You can see how much lighter it looks! But I loved it, and so did Bryan (good thing because I didn't really know if he would like it since I had never done anything so different!).

Also an update, we went to the doctor today, actually the midwife, and everything is great with our girl! The midwife showed me where the baby's head was and we could kinda bounce a little, it was fun! We also heard her heart beat, but it was hard to find it because she was moving like crazy! She's one busy body!! And I'm doing good too, except for the back pains. They are getting pretty bad, and sometimes there's no relief... But I'm 6 months already, and it's all going by fast!
